🌎 Jean&Len goes reef-friendly – (almost) everywhere!
Hawaii is leading the way when it comes to protecting its unique underwater world. That’s why, since 2021, sunscreens containing the UV filters oxybenzone and octinoxate are no longer allowed to be sold there – and of course, we’ve already excluded those ingredients from our Jean&Len products for quite a while now. 💛🐠
But: Some regions in Hawaii are taking things even further...
🔍 What does that actually mean?
Since 2022, on Maui and the Big Island (Hawaiʻi Island), only completely mineral-based sunscreens are allowed – meaning UV filters like non-nano zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
🧴 Our sun care: Reef-aware, but...
Our products are free from the most critical ingredients (oxybenzone & octinoxate), which makes them a big step towards eco-friendly sun protection. 🌿🌞
👉 But a heads-up for all Hawaii fans:
For especially protected areas like Maui and the Big Island, our products are currently not yet permitted, since only fully mineral sunscreens are allowed there.
💬💡Our product team is hard at work with lots of 💪 & 💡 to refine our formulas – so that they not only deliver great performance but also meet the increasingly strict environmental regulations. For a better future for our planet! 🌍💚
💬 Our tip for Hawaii travelers:
Check the latest local regulations before your trip – or go for locally sourced, certified reef-safe sunscreens on-site.
And when you’re back home: With Jean&Len you’ll continue to protect your skin and the environment – and feel amazing doing it! 🌊🧴✨
